On the US-EU Trade Deal
President Donald Trump campaigned on rebalancing an international trade system which has been stacked against Americans for decades. And he delivered in his monumental trade deal with the European Union, the details of which were just publicly finalized. One of the largest trade deals in history, it fundamentally resets our trade relationship to the European Union by delivering a series of bold victories for Americans.
The deal includes:
A 15% tariff on 70% of European goods exported to America
ZERO tariffs on American industrial goods
Preferential market access for a host of American products
$600 billion in investments into American companies
$750 billion in American energy purchases over the next three years
Taken in concert with the litany of other trade deals the Trump administration has secured with countries like the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and more – one thing is becoming increasingly clear: America is putting its people first, and American manufacturing will no longer be sacrificed on the altar of free trade.
We commend President Trump’s deal with the European Union, and wish him continued success as he pursues further trade deals.
