BMP Endorses Social Media Regulation Bill

Washington, DC — This week, Aiden Buzzetti, President of THE BULL MOOSE PROJECT, made a statement on Utah House Bill 311, which would open up social media companies to private action.

“This legislation is a massive step to protect kids online. We know that extended time spent on social media can leave kids feeling isolated and negatively impact their mental health, and in many cases are intentionally designed to promote or reinforce addictive behaviors.

Creating a private right of action against these social media companies, especially for the children, will allow families to hold these platforms accountable and up the stakes if these platforms continue to act as vultures on the American youth.

We strongly support this legislation and hope to see it replicated across the country.”
