On the East Palestine Disaster
Washington, DC — The Bull Moose Project calls out the catastrophic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio and demands an investigation from the federal government.
“The recent Norfolk Southern train derailment is one of the worst ecological disasters we have seen in recent memory. Train cars containing toxic chemicals including vinyl chloride derailed and spilled out, resulting in officials having to burn those toxic chemicals off into the air.
Residents of East Palestine have reported burning eyes, sore throats, migraines and rashes. Pet and livestock owners observed adverse reactions, and in some cases, have had their animals perish. The residents of East Palestine and the surrounding area deserve answers. How did this happen? How badly has the environment been impacted? Is the town these Ohioans grew up in still safe to live in?
What support will be given to the families who have been affected?
The Bull Moose Project calls on Congress to investigate the derailment and subsequent chemical spill, and to provide answers to the American people — especially to the residents of East Palestine.”
