Quarterly Update, Q1 2026

We’re a quarter of the way through 2026. DC is finally heating up (though there’s still some snowcrete here and there) – and we are too. The last three months for us have been full of events, filings, reports, and op-eds. We also launched a publication, The New Outlook. Send your pitches to submissions@newoutlook.org.
Reports and Public Filings
We began the year with a report on private equity’s fiendish attempts to vacuum up America’s healthcare industry. Read it here.
One of our fellows, Heberto Limas-Villers, wrote a comment for the USTR on the Design of a Plurilateral Agreement on Trade in Critical Minerals. We also left two comments for the FCC: one on EchoStar Spectrum License Assignments and another on why sports blackouts are un-American and need to go the way of the dinosaurs (ok, we didn’t phrase it quite that way - but read it here).
We also released several primers and reports over at the Bull Moose Institute. Policy Analyst Anthony Constantini’s “America First and the World” dug into specific ways the United States can carry out an America First policy around the globe. And our President, Aiden Buzzetti, released a primer – “Restoring the American Privateer Tradition in Cyberspace” – advocating for the creation of cyber letters of marque.
Events
In January, the Bull Moose Institute was pleased to host a debate between Joel Thayer and Ari Cohen on protecting kids online.
This March, the Bull Moose Institute also hosted the America First Antitrust Forum. Featuring FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Commissioner Mark Meador, Acting Assistant Attorney General Omeed A. Assefi, and more, attendees were treated to an inside view of the future of antitrust action on the right.
