Against the DIGNIDAD (Dignity) Act

Aiden Buzzetti, President of the Bull Moose Project, released the following statement on the DIGNIDAD Act:

“Ten years ago, it was estimated that the United States had roughly 11 million illegal immigrants. But after Joe Biden was elected, he threw open America's borders, allowing millions more to illegally enter the United States. Republicans were elected in 2024 on a promise to reverse that tide. But now, Representative Maria Elvira Salazar is seeking to betray that promise with her DIGNIDAD (Dignity) Act, which would legalize illegal immigrants who came to the United States before Joe Biden took office.

Let’s be clear here: the DIGNIDAD Act is an amnesty bill. Congresswoman Salazar and her allies are seeking to hide that fact, but it is indisputable that the bill legalizes those who came illegally. Their penalty? $7,000. That's it. If you come to the United States and violate our country's laws, we'll let you stay - forever - for $7,000. At least, that's the message Salazar wants to send to voters. The fact that she named the bill in a foreign language only adds insult to injury.

Salazar says if you've been here more than five years, you should be able to stay because you have been "contributing to the economy." By this twisted logic, the millions Joe Biden let in will get their chance to stay too - they just have to evade American law enforcement until 2030.

Republicans should ignore this abhorrent legislation.”
