The FCC Banned Foreign Routers. Now It’s Time to Secure the Rest of the Network
On March 23, the Federal Communications Commission added foreign-made consumer routers to its Covered List, effectively banning new models from entering the American market.
The reasoning was clear: routers are the gateway to every home network, and foreign-manufactured devices have been exploited by malicious actors in cyberattacks targeting critical U.S. infrastructure.
Chairman Brendan Carr rightly called the risks “unacceptable.”
