In Support of: Delete, Delete, Delete, GN Docket No. 25-133

Today, I submitted a comment to the FCC regarding Delete, Delete, Delete, GN Docket No. 25-133.

Dear Ms. Dortch:

On behalf of The Bull Moose Project, I write to express our strong support for the Federal Communications Commission’s proposed rule change in GN Docket No. 25-133, "Delete, Delete, Delete: Removal of Obsolete Regulations." We commend the Commission for its initiative to eliminate outdated and low-impact regulations that no longer serve the public interest. This effort to streamline the FCC’s rulebook will help reduce regulatory burden while preserving important protections, and it provides a model for other agencies seeking to modernize their own regulations.

We have reviewed the FCC’s statements supporting this proceeding – including those of Chairman Brendan Carr and Commissioner Olivia Trusty – and we wholeheartedly agree with their rationale. We believe removing obsolete rules will help spur innovation and economic opportunity across the United States by freeing businesses from the stranglehold of red tape and bureaucratic procedure.

According to the FCC’s analysis, this action will remove 71 rule provisions, including 98 individual rules and requirements from the Commission’s rulebook which are tied to technologies or practices that no longer exist in the modern communications landscape, including regulations that govern analog television services. Removing these dead-letter rules relieves regulated entities of unnecessary compliance obligations that no longer benefit any party.

We believe this proceeding can serve as a model for other federal agencies that are working to remove regulations that “harm the national interest by significantly and unjustifiably impeding technological innovation” or “impose undue burdens on small business and impede private enterprise and entrepreneurship.”

We also applaud the FCC’s use of the streamlined “direct final rule” process in this context to implement non-controversial reforms quickly while still providing an opportunity to hear from the public and interested parties. We believe that the rules targeted in this proceeding are needless burdens, and they should be cleared in the most efficient and accountable manner possible. We commend the Commission for leveraging this tool for that purpose.

Thank you for the opportunity to submit these comments. We appreciate the FCC’s leadership in this proceeding, and we look forward to the positive impacts this rule change will have as a model of regulatory streamlining.

Sincerely,

Aiden Buzzetti
